Calling all teachers and education leaders! There are two national surveys open right now that give you a chance to share your experiences and insights.
Australian Teacher Workforce Survey
It's an annual survey run by the the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).
It's open to registered school teachers (past and present), school leaders and admins.
You'll be sent an individual link, so check your email.
Australian University Census on Staff Well-being
This survey comes from University of South Australia’s Psychosocial Safety Climate Global Observatory and is supported the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), Black Dog Institute, Transitioning Well and SuperFriend.
Employees of public universities in Australia can participate.
Why participate?
Participating in workplace or professional surveys offers several valuable benefits. These surveys provide a platform for individuals to express their thoughts and experiences, fostering self-reflection and empowerment.
Surveys help us realise we're not alone in our struggles, fostering a sense of community and solidarity, especially in a challenging profession like education. They can offer emotional support by acknowledging your experiences, reminding you that your voice matters in the broader educational context. It gives you a chance to compare your workplace experiences with others, encouraging critical reflection on workplace culture and hopefully inspiring improvement.
Participation contributes to a larger data set, too, enhancing the validity of research findings and supporting advocacy for necessary policy and structural changes. Survey data can influence policy decisions, providing evidence for reforms that benefit educators and the education system.
If completing the survey has made you curious about your place in the sector or open to exploring your options, book a mentoring session.
